Liberatum + Louis Vuitton
Tree of Human Life is a commissioned collaboration with Liberatum celebrating the 200th birthday of Louis Vuitton. Liberatum was chosen by Louis Vuitton as one of the 200 visionaries around the world to express its vision on the iconic trunk. Other visionaries include Hans Ulrich Obrist, BTS, Frank Gehry and Gloria Steinem, among others.
Against a backdrop of a shimmering pink universe of my jewelry based sparkling stars and luminescent planets, the artwork symbolizes a galaxy full of dreams, profound life changing journeys and past experiences to expand human consciousness. Kevin Oux photographed bodies of all shapes and ethnicities suspended in the air, flying into the universe in sculptural form and a gravity defying dance. It represents the uniqueness of the human interconnection and how deeply we influence and affect each other in our journeys. The Tree of Human Life concept was conceived by Pablo Ganguli, founder of Liberatum.
First the digital versions of The Tree of Human Life and other collaborators were displayed on rotation in 500 Louis Vuitton store windows globally. The 200 trunks were digitized and shared across Louis Vuitton’s social platforms as well as the windows worldwide.
From the original digital artwork to 3D, layers of plexiglass and internal light bring this #Louis200 trunk to life. After a premiere in France, the global exhibition, "200 Trunks, 200 Visionaries," traveled to Singapore, Beverly Hills and New York City. Plans also include Tokyo and London before being auctioned off with funds donated to charitable causes.
